Hounslow Heath Junior School Governing Body

The Governing Body consists of members of staff, parents, representatives of the local authority and co-opted or community governors, who have included parents of former pupils of the school. The full Governing Body of the school meets every term. 

All members of the Governing Body are appointed by the Hounslow Heath Junior School Governing Body , while the Local Authority Education Authority Governor is appointed by the London Borough of Hounslow. Parent Governors are elected by parents and carers of pupils at Hounslow Heath Junior School. All these governors have voting rights, except Associate Members and Observers.

Members of the Governing Body also form committees including the Curriculum Committee, Pay and Staffing Committee and the Finance, Premises & Resources Committee which also meet every term. The Curriculum Committee additionally support the school in monitoring relevant aspects of teaching and learning throughout the school. Any communication with the Governing Body can made through the school office, or by addressing mail to the Chair of Governors, using the school address (Hounslow Heath Junior School, Cambridge Road, Hounslow, TW4 7BD).

A Temporary Governing Body has been appointed to oversee the amalgamation of Hounslow Heath Junior School and Hounslow Heath Infant School. It comprises of Governors from both schools, Local Authority representatives and an independent chair. A new Governing Body will be formed for Hounslow Heath School (new school formed following the amalgamation) in January 2024. 

All governors declare relevant business and pecuniary interests before each meeting. All governors have signed codes of practice, statements of interest and declarations that they are not disqualified from serving on governing bodies.

There are no material interests that arise from relationships between or relationships between governors and school staff. Any Governors who have relationships with members of staff do not sit on the Pay and Staffing Committee. None of the school governors have governance roles in other educational institutions. Conflicts of interest are declared at the start of each governing body meeting. 

The Chair of Hounslow Heath Junior School declares any material interests arising from his relationship as spouse to the Chair of Hounslow Heath Infant and Nursery School Governing Body.
